One Up, One Down

So the left ear is up! Officially.
Tummy rubs are the best.

Minnie graduated from puppy school on Saturday and will move up to the next course...Dynamic Dog. We're very excited because it means leash training will start. Not a moment too soon.

A big girl

So, at 16 weeks she is 8.5 whole lbs.!! Almost rivaling the cat now much to Roxi's chagrin. Roxi has learned that even the bed is no longer a safe place with Minnie's legs having now grown.

We're not sure if her ears are trying to stand up but we're noticing the right one is standing up more on it's own...it's only a matter of time. You can see that they're going to be large.

She is also in her 4th week at puppy school and is acing all the commands - her vocabulary now includes sit, down, watch me, off, and sometimes...come. If there's nothing else exciting around.

She also has learned a VERY fun trick - opening the crate by herself. This has created some problems for mom and dad, especially when mom came home after a plane flight to find a very happy Minnie, a chewed shoe, and an empty cat poop box. Yes, Minnie has a fetish for cat poop now. Gross.

Trip to Columbus

A brief visit to Columbus where I forgot how cold it can get. In one day, I went from 15 degrees and snow to sun and 50 degrees. no rain!

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Minnie's official job description is lap dog. This is where you can find her most days. And usually the cat is in the paper box staring at her, still trying to figure out where she came from.

More animals

Nap time.

Another favorite pasttime...in front of the fire. She has also taken over the princess pet bed that the cat won't use which we put next to the fireplace. Only problem is that it's a bit top heavy so when you lean on one side, the whole thing topples over as she has found out.

Roxi was feeling left out. They are progressing in their relationship. The thrill of the chase is still a problem, but we're working on it. Doesn't help that Kitty eggs Minnie on. At that point, Kitty deserves it. She definitely knows when Minnie is in her crate and when she's not.

Minnie and her pal

This is Emma, Katie from work's 5 year old, who has also become Minnie's new best friend. She is our token kid socializer who is teaching Minnie all sorts of new and fun tricks, like how to bite ears and how much fun it is to race and leap after her.

Yes, that is a kid in a cage. Our newest form of discipline. Actually, that's the setup behind my desk at work which is Minnie's playpen with a crate attached (not in the picture). Emma crawled in to take a nap with Minnie while she was visiting her mom.

Minnie has learned that Emma will most likely tire out faster than she will so she races around, but then sits and waits for Emma to run back.
