Trip to the coast!

On historic Nye Beach in Newport, OR. The water is a tad chilly......as is the air, notice the jackets.

See the lighthouse in the background? Some crazies were swimming.

A fishing village with awesome crab, tuna, salmon, and halibut deep sea fishing. In the Yaquina Bay, SEALIONS! We had a great dinner on the water listening to these creatures, eating fish and chips and drinking local brew.

On the Nye beach again, a romantic sunset...........

Midnight Polly is going to her Foster

After a couple of days, the girls have reached a truce (after much hissing and clawing). We've named the little one Polly as she likes to sit on your shoulder and watch from above like a parrot.

She is going to her foster mom on Monday to play with many other kittens and await her forever home. She has definitely been an interesting houseguest.

Midnight visitor

we had a little surprise on our doorstep...this little girl has had a rough start and will hopefully be placed soon in a home. until then, she is purring up a storm. she's very young, and having trouble as she was separated too early from her mom and cries a lot. she will get vet care through the cat adoption league and we're hoping to foster her until she finds a home. for now, she hasn't met Roxi b/c of the health issue until she gets the all clear.

we stop for huckleberry milkshakes. whatever a huckleberry is. there's also marionberries, lingonberries, and many more local ones.

Saturday Around Portland

After attempting to be healthy and bike riding - I'm still getting used to the bike culture here, we decided to try the local brew and dessert - pix patisserie. who says beer and dessert don't go together. they also have the ultimate that I will have to try - a beer float (chocolate stout and mocha ice cream...yum).
