January Sun!

Just when you think you can't take it anymore...the sun comes out. For a day. And then it rains until July.

We headed to the coast to soak up our Vitamin D supply to store it until July.

Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach.

A Minnie dog lost in thought. Probably thinking about the turd she left on the beach b/c her mom forgot the poop bag.

For Dad

We haven't updated the blog in 2 DAYS and evidently it's been noted. I have been working however and there was the BIG SNOW oh, and a yacking dog. (and no that doesn't mean my dog has started talking).

This is how we spent New Year's Day after a very fun evening prior at the Pink Martini concert and at a loft in the Pearl ringing in the New Year.

Minnie was cheering for the Ohio State buckeyes against the ducks. Although we were disowned by our Ohio State friends AND our Oregon friends. I'm not sure what that makes us....oh, that's right...BEARCATS!

We made a heritage filled dinner. And now I feel sick.

We have Great Grandma's Pineapple Salad (Williams), Sauerkraut Soup (Nedbal), Kielbasa (Pucke, Nedbal), carrots-?, and stuffed Pork Tenderloin (new Day), Adelsheim wine (new Day, though we don't drink Adelsheim very much anymore since they chose someone else to design their labels).

Snow in Portland!

Again, this is the first snow of the season and as usual, true to form, Portland freaked out. I was in a traffic jam that lasted 1 hour and went 3 blocks in 45 minutes. Fun times. Minnie, however, did enjoy the snow after realizing that it wasn't going to eat her. It was short lived and then she wanted back in front of the fireplace.

My commute home. And no, I wasn't driving AND taking pictures. I was stopped for a LONG time.

Truly, her favorite spot.

A couple of inches on the ground and still coming down.

Our little snow dog.

The Trip Back

We began the trip back home to Portland. We decided to take a different route that would take us to a new part of Washington which we hadn't been to - the Olympic Peninsula and Port Townsend. Did you know that the Olympic Peninsula has the only rain forest outside South America?

The Olympic Peninsula also has Forks, WA and Port Angeles which have both seen a revival of sorts as the recent movies, New Moon and Twilight were based there (but only 1 was filmed there). Trivia for the day.

In line. On standby.
Here it comes!

It's a bit chilly.

The views were amazing. And cold.

Port Townsend. For Sale. The building, not the town.

Very funny.

Eric always wants to know how his butt looks in things.
Very pretty. I look ok myself as well.
